    PSJA ISD hosts inaugural College and Career rally

    PHARR, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — School leaders with the Pharr San Juan Alamo Independent School District hosted a rally Tuesday to prepare students for college and future career paths.

    The rally welcomed sophomores across the school district to explore various career paths, learn about the PSJA Early College Program and to speak with panelists.

    “The event is really established to get our students excited about thinking what career pathway they’re going to be taking on as they’re here students at PSJA ISD, said Linda Uribe, PSJA Executive Officer for College and Career Readiness.

    PSJA ISD has partnered with South Texas College to offer early college courses to high school students and allow them to earn college credit.

    “We want to ensure that these opportunities get all of our students, college career and military connected,” Uribe continued.

    High school students who enroll in the district’s Early College Program are able to graduate with up to an Associate’s Degree of 60 credit college hours free of cost, according to the district.
