Edinburg North mariachi shows Kelly Clarkson how to grito

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — On Wednesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly and Teddy Swim took Grito lessons from Edinburg North High School Mariachi member Cat Luna.

In the episode that will air at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Clarkson met with film director Sam Osbourn and film producer Alejandra Vasquez of the documentary “Going Varsity In Mariachi” in which the Edinburg North High School Mariachi Oro was featured.

Luna shows Clarkson the finer points of making a Grito while Osbourn, Vasquez, and mariachi coach Abel Acuña talk about the documentary and Hispanic Heritage Month.

Tune in to hear about the benefits of the mariachi program.

In addition, H-E-B will present a $10,000 donation to help expand the mariachi program.
