PSJA ISD cuts ribbon on continuing education center for parents

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Pharr-San-Juan-Alamo Independent School District on Wednesday hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the PSJA Elvis Ballew Learning Center .

The ceremony unveiled continuing education programs for PSJA ISD parents to earn industry certifications in high-demand fields in partnership with South Texas College.

“In this location, we’re going to have our HVAC, which is the air conditioning, electrical, and we have phlebotomy,” said Alejandro Elias, district superintendent. “In addition, there are going to be forklift credentials and numerous amounts of certificates that we’re going to be providing with our partner South Texas College and it’s going to be free to the parents.”

The facility is located at 1100 US-83 in Pharr.
