    Junior All-Star Jack Smiley will leave Valparaiso for La Lumiere for senior season

    Another top Indiana high school basketball player is leaving for prep school.

    Jack Smiley, a left-handed point guard and Junior All-Star, announced on his social media accounts Monday that he is headed to La Lumiere in La Porte for his senior season. He will team up with former Fishers standout Jalen Haralson, who transferred to La Lumiere last year before his junior season.

    Smiley averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists last season for Valparaiso (19-7), which lost a Class 4A sectional semifinal to Crown Point. He scored 1,164 career points in three seasons to rank eighth in program history.

    Smiley has several Division I offers, including from Belmont, Bowling Green, Buffalo, DePaul, IU Indianapolis, Kent State, Miami of Ohio, Ohio, Southern Illinois and Valparaiso.

    Former Heritage Hills standout Trent Sisley, also a 1,000-point scorer and a core Junior All-Star, announced his transfer to Montverde Academy in Florida earlier this month .
