Two rescued from pontoon boat near South Haven
Two people on a pontoon boat were rescued July 4th weekend by Van Buren County Sheriff Marine patrols after their boat hit a wave just south of the South Haven’s piers. Sheriff Daniel Abbott reported the two individuals were ejected from the rented pontoon boat at about 6 p.m. Saturday, July 6. The sheriff’s marine patrol was stationed in Lake Michigan south of the pier heads, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
