550 dogs, cats and more found new homes in large-scale adoption event
PORTLAND, Ore. — Around 550 animals found a new home at a large-scale adoption event in and around Portland over the weekend. Between Friday and Sunday, a handful of agencies collectively known as Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland, or ASAP held its first-ever ADOPT ASAP event. Five agencies — the Oregon Humane Society, Multnomah County Animal Services, Washington County Animal Services, the Cat Adoption Team and the Humane Society of Southwest Washington — all banded together for one goal: to adopt as many pets as possible.
