Buckeye Pizza of JC opens in Jackson Center
JACKSON CENTER — Buckeye Pizza of JC had a soft opening over the weekend. The family-owned establishment is located at the former Heidout Bar in Jackson Center. Along with the usual pizza shop food, the restaurant will be serving loaded nachos, salads, pasta dishes and funnel cake fries. Customer Jim Dykes stated that he is impressed by the brilliant service and great food.
Blue Angels hold June meeting
The Blue Angels 4-H club had a meeting at Faith Baptist Church on June 5 from 6-8 p.m. The meeting involved topics of 4-H camp, discussing dates and times for project presentation day, voting on Adopt a Tree and Fish With a Hero, and also a presentation about mower safety from Flory’s Landscaping.
Dave Chappelle sells out hometown Ohio show with hip-hop legend 50 Cent
YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WKRC) - Dave Chappelle officially sold out his final hometown show with musical guest 50 Cent. The show, in Chappelle's hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio, was the final of the comedian's homecoming shows that began at the beginning of July. It's part of Chappelle's Soundcheck Series, which features other prominent or local artists like musicians.

Person shot multiple times Saturday morning in Toledo, TPD says
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo police say one person was found shot multiple times in the front yard of a Toledo home Saturday morning. A TPD sergeant on the scene confirmed with 13 Action News an adult male was taken to the hospital after being shot multiple times. The victim’s condition isn’t clear at this time.
UM Professor to give talk in Maumee on political misinformation
Barbara McQuade, the former U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan and a current law professor at the University of Michigan, will talk about disinformation in American politics during a program at the Maumee Branch Library. Ms. McQuade’s recently published book, Attack from Within: How Disinformation is Sabotaging America, explores how authoritarian regimes throughout history have utilized disinformation to consolidate power and ways to combat the rise of these trends in the United States. The event, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, is hosted by the Maumee Branch Library in association with the UM alumni association.

Free pop-up dental, vision and medical clinic this weekend in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI — A nonprofit will host a pop-up clinic for free dental, vision and medical care to those in need this weekend. All operations are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
