State awards $20.5M in grants to Michigan schools for mental health and safety
The Michigan Department of Education has awarded $20.5 million in grant for mental health services to 76 school districts and charter schools across the state. The funds, part of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act signed into law by President Joe Biden, will be used by educators to expand mental health services and “design and enhance initiatives that will promote safer, more inclusive, and positive school environments for all students, educators, and school staff.”
