    Riz Ahmed’s Amazon Comedy Series Casts ‘Man Like Mobeen’ Star Guz Khan

    Guz Khan has joined the cast of Riz Ahmed’s upcoming comedy series at Amazon Prime Video, Variety has learned.

    The show was originally announced back in June . Ahmed is the writer, executive producer, co-showrunner, and star of the untitled half-hour series. Per the official logline, the show follows “Shah Latif (Ahmed), a struggling actor on the cusp of landing the role of a lifetime, only to find himself thrust into a full blown existential crisis and trippy conspiracy thriller all at the same time.”

    Khan will appear in a series regular role, but exact character details are being kept under wraps.

    Khan is best known for the series “Man Like Mobeen,” which has aired four seasons on BBC Three with a fifth on the way. Khan stars in the series and was also its co-creator and writer. His other TV credits include “Our Flag Means Death,” “The Gentlemen,” “Taskmaster,” “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin,” “Turn Up Charlie,” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” He has been in films like “Army of Thieves,” “The Bubble,” and “How to Date Billy Walsh.”

    He is repped by Curtis Brown in the UK and UTA in the U.S.

    Ben Karlin is the other co-showrunner and executive producer on the Ahmed series. Ahmed executive produces along with Allie Moore under their Left Handed production banner. Jake Fuller executive produces for Jax Media, which is producing the series along with Amazon MGM Studios. Left Handed has a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios, under which this show falls.
