FX has released the first teaser for the upcoming horror drama series “Grotesquerie.”

The teaser, which can be seen below, begins with a voiceover by series star Niecy Nash-Betts saying, “I don’t know how it started. It’s like a hole opened up in the world to the center of nothingness.” It is followed by Micaela Diamond’s character, Sister Megan, saying, “This killer is sermonizing, proselytizing, preaching. To understand this monster, we have to decipher these murders.”

The teaser also offers a very qiuick glimpse of Travis Kelce in the series, whose exact role is being kept under wraps.

As previously announced , Grotesquerie will premiere on FX on Sept. 25. In addition to Nash-Betts, Diamond, and Kelce, the cast includes Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin.

The official description for the series states:

“A series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”

The series was created by Ryan Murphy along with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. All three serve as executive producers along with Alexis Martin Woodall, Max Winkler, Nash-Betts, Vance, Peter Liguori, Nissa Diederich, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. Murphy is also a director on the series along with Winkler, Martin Woodall, and Elegance Bratton. 20th Television is the studio.
