Composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and singer-songwriter Eisa Davis have tapped vocalists Marc Anthony, Luis Figueroa, Flaco Navaja and Chris Rivers for their new “Warriors” album — a 26-song project inspired by the novel and 1979 classic New York City film, “The Warriors.”

Anthony will star as Tato on the album, while Figueroa is locked in to play Miguel. Navaja will portray Jesús and Rivers is credited as playing “The Bronx.” Remaining cast members will be revealed at a later time, per an official announcement.

The album, slated for an Oct. 18 debut, is executive-produced by Grammy-winning rapper Nas and is produced by multi-instrumentalist Mike Elizondo. Based on the 1965 novel by Sol Yurick, the “Warriors” set will center around a fictitious New York City gang that has been framed for the murder of a rival gang’s leader.

“We’ve spent the past three years musicalizing the Warriors’ journey home, from the South Bronx to Coney Island,” said Miranda and Davis in a joint statement. “Along the way, we’ve gotten to work with a lot of our favorite artists, and we’ll be announcing their roles on the album in the weeks ahead. We can’t wait to share these songs with you on Oct. 18.”

Miranda cemented his status in Broadway in 2015 after writing and starring in the musical “Hamilton.” The following year, the cast recording won a Grammy for best musical theater album and became the first-ever Broadway cast recording to be certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association. A follow-up project from the cast dubbed “The Hamilton Mixtape” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2016.

Davis is also a prolific actor, writer and singer-songwriter and was a former finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama for her play “Bulrusher.”
