Is an Oasis reunion definitely, maybe happening?

Founders and famously sparring siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher seemed to confirm that the group is getting back together after the pair both posted a cryptic clip showcasing the date, Aug. 27, 2024, along with the time, 8 a.m., on their respective X/Twitter accounts on Sunday. The official Oasis website also has “27.08.24” displayed on its main page.

Sure, such posts are used as teasers for album reissues or archival videos. But the timing here, which follows a series of gradually escalating rumors, appears to be no coincidence: After reports circulated over the weekend about Oasis performing in the U.K. in 2025, including a 10-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, Liam Gallagher fueled speculation about the possible reunion in a series of social media posts.

“I never did like that word FORMER,” the singer said on X Sunday morning.

When one user complained about Oasis playing Heaton Park in Manchester, calling it a “terrible venue,” Liam Gallagher replied : “See you down the front you big fanny.”

Oasis formally disbanded in 2009 after the departure of Noel Gallagher.

In April of this year, Oasis received its first nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which, if inducted, could have led to a reunion between the Gallagher brothers. However, when reacting to the nomination, Liam Gallagher quickly shut down that possibility.

“Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” Liam Gallagher wrote on X at the time. In another post , he said of his brother: “The little fella loves hanging out with celebrities so he’d prob go; as for me I’m washing my hair and having a pedicure and a manicure.”

In June, Liam Gallagher kicked off a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis ‘ debut studio album “Definitely Maybe.” The album also received a new reissue earlier this year.
