Justin Timberlake is expected to plead guilty in Sag Harbor, N.Y., on Friday in connection with his drunk driving arrest in June, according to local reports.

Timberlake, 43, was charged with DWI after police stopped him for weaving out of his lane and failing to obey a stop sign. The arresting officer reported that his eyes were “bloodshot” and “glassy,” and that he performed poorly on a field sobriety test. Timberlake refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test.

Timberlake’s lawyer had previously denied that his client was drunk.

“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI,” the attorney, Ed Burke, said in July.

Burke had no comment on the plea agreement, which was first reported by TMZ and confirmed by Newsday, citing “sources familiar with the details of the case.”

TMZ reported that the misdemeanor DWI charge — generally imposed for a blood-alcohol level of .08 and above — would be reduced to a “driving while ability impaired” charge, a lower level violation that carries a fine of $300-$500 and a temporary license suspension.

Refusing to take a Breathalyzer test is itself an infraction that results in a one-year license suspension.

Timberlake is expected to appear in person before Justice Carl Irace to enter his plea.

The singer reportedly told the officers that he was following friends home after drinking one martini.

Timberlake just concluded a tour of Europe with concerts in Hamburg, Germany and Lyon, France.
