DEADLOCH UNLOCKED
Production has begun in Darwin, Northern Territory, on season 2 of Prime Video ’s Australian comedy series “Deadloch.” Filming will later relocate to Brisbane , Queensland.

The first season saw two very different female detectives thrown together to solve the murder of a man and was set in Tasmania. While the second season sees the return of Kate Box and Madeleine Sami as detectives Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe, they are joined by Steve Bisley (“The Great Gatsby”), Shari Sebbens (“The Sapphires”), writer Jean Tong (“Heartbreak High”) and in their acting debut role, Genevieve Morris, Byron Coll, Nikki Britton, Anthony J Sharpe, Blake Pavey, Damien Garvey, Ngali Shaw, Bev Killick, Ling Cooper-Tang, Ursula Yovich, Syd Brisbane, Ines English and Lennox Monaghan.
“Deadloch” S2 is created and written by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan who also serve as executive producers alongside Kevin Whyte and Tanya Phegan from Guesswork Television . Andy Walker is the producer. The series is directed by Beck Cole and Gracie Otto. “Deadloch” is produced by Guesswork Television, OK Great Productions and Amazon MGM Studios . It is financed with the assistance of Screen Territory through its production attraction incentive program and supported by the Queensland government through Screen Queensland ’s production attraction strategy.
NEO YEAR COMEDY
Jack Neo , consistently Singapore’s most commercially successful filmmaker, is gearing up for production of “AI Ping Cai Hui Ying,” a comedy film about AI and ordinary people. Neo told local media that he will shoot the film next month and plans to release in time for the Chinese New Year holidays in late January 2025. He reported a budget of S$2.5 million ($1.92 million) and that he is still looking for investors and distributors.

International star Akon will bring his “Akon The Superfan Tour Live” to Malaysia on Nov. 19, at Kuala Lumpur’s Mega Star Arena, and to Singapore’s Arena @Expo the following day. The organizer of the two concerts is Jeeharris Entertainment, the management company founded by Malaysian singer and actor Harris Baba .

Prime Video has launched HITS , a Rewind Networks -owned linear channel, as an add-on subscription in India. The service offers classic TV dramas and comedies like “Frasier,” “CSI,” and “Mission: Impossible.” Available for INR299 ($3.50) annually, HITS provides scheduled broadcasts and catch-up viewing. The channel joins Prime Video’s growing marketplace of premium content add-ons.
Gaurav Bhasin, head of marketplace at Prime Video India, touted the launch as expanding choice for subscribers. Sandie Lee, executive VP of Rewind Networks, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s potential to showcase HITS’ catalog of iconic series to Indian viewers.
