Producer Checka Propper has been named the new head of television at Color Force, the production company behind series like “Pose” and “American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson.”

In her role, Propper will oversee the Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson-run company’s television slate and work closely with FX, which just expanded their exclusive producing deal with Color Force through 2027.

Beyond its work with FX, Color Force’s other notable credits include “The Hunger Games” franchise, “Crazy Rich Asians” and “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid” films.

Before joining Color Force, Propper worked as executive vice president at David E. Kelley Productions where she helped adapt Rufi Thorpe’s 2023 novel “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” for Apple TV+. After spending her fledgling years at Fox and MTV, Propper served as VP of television at Doug Liman’s Hypnotic where she developed series such as “The Recruit,” “Suits,” “Pearson” and “Nightflyers.”

“When we met Checka, we immediately felt connected to her sensibility and taste,” said Color Force co-founders Jacobson and Simpson in a joint statement. “She has a sterling reputation and loves writers the way we do. We can’t wait to start making TV with her.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Color Force team,” Propper said. “I’ve long been a fan of the groundbreaking, genre-defining work they’ve produced, and I’m excited to explore new ways to build on that legacy. I look forward to collaborating with Nina, Brad and the incredible team at Color Force, as well as our partners at FX, to create bold, innovative television that resonates with audiences.”
