Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good fright: Buffalo 8 has acquired worldwide distribution rights for the upcoming holiday horror thriller “Final Recovery.”

From the team behind the award-winning series “Kombucha Cure,” the film marks the first lead role for character actor Jasper Cole (“Fall,” “MacGruber”), who has over 120 film and television credits to his name in a career that has spanned four decades.

“Final Recovery” is about an addiction recovery facility, Sage, in Southeast Michigan where profits (and not healing) are the top priority. Louise “Nanny Lou” Stamey owns and operates the center, and while most in town believe her to be saint-like, the reality is much more sinister and twisted. Only after patients Rodney and Dustin become suspicious of Nanny Lou’s motives do things begin to unravel.

Other cast members include Charlene Tilton (“Dallas,” “The Nana Project”), Richard Tyson (“Black Hawk Down,” “There’s Something About Mary”), Michael Emery (“Birder,” “Stranger Things”), Cherish Lee (“American History X”), Damian Chinappi (“The Girl in the Attic”) and Kaiti Wallen (“Ash and Bone”).

Lee, who is Tilton’s daughter and is working with her onscreen for the first time, also contributed several original songs to the film.

Harley Wallen (“Beneath Us All,” “Ash and Bone”) directs the film from a script by novelist Jerry Lee Davis (“Twin Cities,” “Running Through A Koga Field”) and three-time Emmy nominee Nick Theurer (“Slap Face,” “The Bay,” “The Way Out”).

Santa Monica-based Buffalo 8 is a full-service film and media company focused on production, post-production, finance and distribution. It aims to make film distribution transparent and accessible by helping filmmakers reach global audiences through innovative marketing strategies and direct output deals with streaming platforms, networks and international partners.
