CAA has appointed Matthew Schuyler as Chief People Officer. He will oversee the company’s human resources, talent management and development, workforce planning, recruitment and diversity and inclusion functions across its nearly 20 offices and 3,700 employees worldwide. He has previously led global HR teams at Hilton Worldwide, Capital One, Cisco and PwC.

“CAA continues to extend its leadership across business sectors and geographic markets, ensuring that we’re always in the best position to serve our clients and create countless opportunities for them around the world,” said CAA President Jim Burtson. “Matt’s tremendous experience managing global HR functions at industry-leading companies speaks to his deep understanding of what makes organizations excel, including a motivated, high-performing workforce rooted in a culture that fosters career-long growth and opportunity. His significant business acumen, combined with his experience scaling teams, leveraging technology and driving operational excellence at widely-admired service businesses aligns with CAA’s own clear mission to deliver world-class service to world-class clients.”

“It’s an extraordinary privilege to join CAA to help ensure that all employees continue to feel the inspiration and support that’s vital for doing their best work and for helping the company achieve its business goals,” said Schuyler. “CAA’s leadership and vision are unmatched in the industry, and premised on a global group of immensely talented and diverse experts collaborating within a culture that encourages creativity, curiosity, and longevity.”

In addition to serving as Hilton’s Worldwide Chief Human Resources Officer for 11 years, Schuyler has also served as the company’s Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Brand Officer. During his tenure, where Hilton grew to more than 450,000 team members, the company earned the #1 ranking on Fortune’s World’s Best Workplaces list, was on Fortune’s Best Companies to Work For list in over 10 countries and achieved the #1 ranking for diversity from DiversityInc.

Prior to that, Schuyler was Capital One’s Chief Human Resources Officer and Head of Corporate Real Estate. At Cisco, he was Senior Vice President of Human Resources, and at PwC, served as a partner and member of the firm’s senior HR leadership team.

Schuyler earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University, where he now serves as Chairman of its Board of Trustees, and received his MBA in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management from the University of Michigan.
