Nick Offerman is the latest addition to the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” Variety has learned.

Offerman will star in the series alongside previously announced cast members Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The eight-episode show was ordered to series at Apple back in February after a multi-platform bidding war. It is based on the Rufi Thorpe novel of the same name, which was published in June.

Per the description of the novel’s plot, it focuses on Margo Millet (Fanning), the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler (Offerman). Now an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo is struggling to make ends meet, leading her to launch an OnlyFans account. When her father reenters her life, she starts incorporating his lessons from the pro wrestling world into her OnlyFans work, leading to unexpected success.

It was reported earlier this year that Offerman will appear in the upcoming Netflix series “Death by Lightning,” which tells the story of the assassination of U.S. President James Garfield (Michael Shannon) by Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen).

Offerman won the Emmy Award and Independent Spirt Award for his guest role in the hit HBO series “The Last of Us” in 2023 for the highly-praised episode “Long, Long Time.” He is primarily known for his staring roles in shows like “Parks and Recreation,” “Pam & Tommy,” and “Devs” as well as for films like “The Founder” and “The Kings of Summer.” His recent credits include the final season of “The Umbrella Academy” and the Alex Garland feature “Civil War.”

He is repped by UTA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

David E. Kelley is writing, executive producing, and showrunning “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” Fanning, Kidman, and Pfeiffer will all executive produce in addition to starring. Brittany Kahan Ward and Dakota Fanning executive produce via the Fannings’ Lewellen Pictures. Per Saari of Kidman’s Blossom Films executive produces along with Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Thorpe and Eva Anderson are also executive producers. A24 is the studio.
