Highs today were much warmer compared to Monday by a good 10 degrees! Today we peaked in the mid to upper 70s. Still a little below average, but not the coolest day of July. Skies were sunny this afternoon with only a slight haze as high smoke remains aloft, but not impacting our air quaintly in western Washington.

Seattle's Mayor Bruce Harrell has put forward a proposal for a pilot program that would see some misdemeanor offenders spending time at the South Correctional Entity (SCORE), rather than the current system under strain. The intention is to create a more consistent response to misdemeanors while integrating necessary services such as health, treatment, and legal aid for those in need. "The goal of this pilot is to give us needed flexibility, capacity, and stability in jail options, ensuring clear and consistent accountability for individuals based on their actions," Harrell stated in an announcement reported by his office.

Poll shows 18% of Washington voters still undecided on carbon market repeal initiative
WASHINGTON, USA — A poll conducted in partnership with KING 5, the Seattle Times and the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public shows 18% of Washington voters are still undecided about repealing the state's carbon market program. According to the Survey USA poll, 48% of respondents said they expect to vote yes on Initiative 2117, while 34% said they expect to vote no.
