Circus Vargas arrives in Ventura, prepares for series of shows

The circus arrived in town this week.

Circus Vargas raised its big top tent Wednesday at the Ventura County Fairgrounds and will host shows Friday through June 3.

The theme is Jubilé! An Epic World Celebration and includes performers from 15 countries. Veteran Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson guides the audience through a show of acrobatics and super human feats. To learn more, visit Circusvargas.com/tickets.

We saw the show this afternoon. Amazing show!! One of the best circus performances I have ever seen. So happy to see the innovation happen towards a modern day circus! Always hated to see those animals being ordered around and simply dominated. We paid more to get on the front row. Worth every penny. Go see it! You won’t be disappointed. :)

Not worth the money. How can you be a Circus, without a single animal? Bunch of acrobatic shows do not warrant the name circus.Call yourself a People Circus maybe. Make it clear, it's not a three ring Circus by normal definition.
