A large crowd gathered Monday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley to honor the men and women who gave their lives for their country.

During the short Memorial Day service, Capt. Robert Kimnach III, commanding officer of Naval Base Ventura County, gave the address with Gold Star family member Tony Cordero also speaking.

The Los Angeles Police Department Concert Band joined with harpist Thomas Baker for performances throughout the program, which concluded with "Taps."
