    LIVE: Coverage of opening week of the high school football season

    The season is upon us. High school football is back, with a full slate of games involving local teams.

    Follow along was we provide live updates from all the Friday games.

    T.O. loses in OT

    FINAL: El Modena 41, Thousand Oaks 34 (OT); Lancers lose a back-and-forth thriller to start the season.

    Bulldogs drop opener

    FINAL: Saugus 38, Buena 34; Bulldogs rallied from halftime deficit to take lead after three quarters, but couldn't hold on in season opener.

    T.O. headed to OT

    We have our second overtime game of the night. Thousand Oaks and El Modena tied 34-34 after regulation.

    Lions start season 1-0

    FINAL: Oaks Christian 24, Chaminade 17

    Pioneers win high-scoring battle

    FINAL: Simi Valley 49, Valencia 41; Pioneers now 2-0 to start season.

    Tagg Harrison connects with Jayden Clarke in the corner of the end zone to give host Simi Valley a 42-35 lead over Valencia with seven minutes remaining in the game.

    Dominic Duran hits Anthony Macias for a 5-yard TD pass to give Pacifica a 42-6 lead over West Ranch with 9:24 left in the game.

    Shane Feller caps Camarillo drive with a 1-yard rushing touchdown to cut Santa Barbara's lead to 35-17 with 3:16 left in third quarter.

    Santa Barbara takes 35-10 lead over Camarillo with 8:01 left in third quarter,

    Duran to Taylor is a winning connection

    Another TD pass from Dominic Duran to Savion Taylor, this time from 12 yards out, gives Pacifica a 34-6 lead at West Ranch with with 4:54 left in the third quarter. The two have hooked up for four TD passes.

    Westlake trails Golden Valley 19-7 late in third quarter.

    Flashes take lead

    Down 12-0 at half, Fillmore scores two TDs to grab a 13-12 lead over Royal in third quarter.

    Grace leads 35-6 over Santa Rosa Academy in third quarter.

    Justin Lewis takes a short pass from Jackson Taylor, breaks a tackle and goes 80 yards for touchdown to give Thousand Oaks a 21-14 lead over host El Modena.

    Dominica Duran and Savion Taylor hook up again, this time for 42-yard TD pass as Pacifica takes 28-6 lead at West Ranch with 7:28 left in the second quarter.

    Scorps get their first score

    Shane Feller has a 13-yard rushing TD for Camarillo's first score of the season, but Santa Barbara answers with a score of its own and leads 21-7 in second quarter. 5:16 left in Q2

    Simi Valley scores on a kickoff return by Jayden Clarke, but Valencia comes back to tie game. 14-14 in 1st quarter.

    Macias scores again

    Another Allen Macias TD run gives Santa Paula 21-0 lead over Bernstein with 3:52 left in the 1st quarter. That's two TDs already for Macias.

    Scorps down 14 early

    Santa Barbara scores TDs on first two possessions and leads Camarillo 14-0 with 4:32 left in first quarter.

    Tritons score again

    After an interception, Pacifica scores again on a 33-yard TD pass to take a 14-6 lead over West Ranch. 7 minutes left in 1st quarter.

    Millikan gets even

    Millikan scores on rushing TD to tie Newbury Park at 7-7.

    Valencia ties game

    Valencia has long TD pass to tie Simi Valley at 7-7.

    Highlanders grab early lead

    Royal gets a FG to take a 3-0 lead over Fillmore in first quarter.

    Tritons go deep to take lead

    Adrian Ruiz hauls in a 48-yard TD as Pacifica takes 7-6 lead over host West Valley with 8:50 left in 1st quarter.

    Cardinals up 14-0

    Alias Rabago returns a punt 70 yards for a TD as Santa Paula takes 14-0 lead over Bernstein in the first quarter.

    T.O. tied up at 7-7

    Justin Lewis had a 40-yard touchdown run on his first carry to give Thousand Oaks a 7-0 lead. Host El Modena comes back to tie game 7-7 with 6:54 left in 1st quarter.

    Simi on board first

    Simi Valley, which opened its season last Friday with a win at Nevada, scores first against Valencia. After a 50-yard pass play, Brice Hawkins runs it twice, the second time for a TD and a 7-0 lead.

    Pacifica down early

    Pacifica allows a 62-yard TD run as West Ranch takes 6-0 lead (PAT missed) with 9:32 left in first quarter

    Smigiel uses legs for first TD

    All-world quarterback Brady Smigiel runs for a 9-yard TD to give Newbury Park a 7-0 lead over Millikan in first quarter.

    Cardinals strike first

    Santa Paula takes a 7-0 lead over Bernstein on a 60-yard TD run by Allen Macias, who rushed for 1,552 yards and 22 TDs last season as a junior.

    Vikings win opener

    Hueneme opened its season with a 38-7 win on the road against California Military Institute. The Vikings have already matched their win total from last season, when they went 1-9 overall and 1-4 in the Citrus Coast League. Hueneme, which will play in the new Tri-County League this season, will play its home opener against Colton next Friday.

    Seraphs start 1-0

    St. Bonaventure opened its season Friday, using a familiar formula to rout St. Francis.
