Comment: The quarterback completed 29 of 41 passes for a school-record 501 yards and tied his own school mark with six touchdown passes to lead Pacifica t o a 42-6 win at West Ranch in a season opener last Friday. Savion Taylor was Duran’s main target, catching 19 passes for 326 yards and three TDs. The passing yards were the ninth-highest total in Ventura County history. The Tritons host rival Oxnard this Friday.

LONDON HALVORSEN

School: Thousand Oaks

Year: Junior

Sport: Volleyball

Comment: The 6-foot-2 outsider hitter helped lead the Lancers to two wins last week. On Tuesday, Halvorsen finished with 14 kills in a 25-15, 25-22, 25-11 sweep of Ventura. On Thursday, she had 13 kills in a 25-10, 25-15, 25-19 win over Royal. Thousand Oaks has started the season 3-0.
