NORWAY, Maine — The Oxford County town of Norway has issued an immediate "boil water" order, citing a water main break on Radcliff Street. PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good evening everyone and happy Friday. We’ve seen a wonderful day across the county today featuring plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures. Highs this afternoon were able to reach the lower 80s, with a few fair weather clouds developing during the afternoon hours. We’ll see more sunshine heading out the door tomorrow, with cloud cover and showers approaching late in the day. This will be thanks to a cold front that’s expected to push through, leaving us with even drier air working into the region for the second half of the weekend into next week.
Main Street to Close for Car Show
Downtown Sanford will be hopping next Friday night, July 26, with the sounds of Doo-wop, the aroma of barbecue and the flash of chrome. More than 100 vintage cars are expected to line Main Street for Cruising with Friends, a car show organized by Friends of Downtown. Main Street between Washington Street and Winter Street will be closed to car traffic from 4 to 8 pm. A food court will be set up at Main Street Marketplace.
Consolidated Communications requests changing 6 vets’ banner placements
Southport Selectman Gerry Gamage will contact Consolidated Communications regarding a request to move six veterans’ banner placements. Consolidated Communications didn’t specify the problem, according to town officials. During the July 17 selectmen’s meeting, Gamage volunteered to find out more about the request. He will contact Consolidated Communications’ employee Paul Perry who lives in Southport. “I will ask him what their issue is with the banners,” Gamage said.
