Over two-dozen homes labeled total loss
NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD (KELO.com) — More than two dozen homes at McCook Lake have been red-tagged, and are being called a total loss from the recent flooding. Most of those homes are on Northshore Drive, and in most cases, the foundations collapsed because of the rushing flood waters. Those homes have been deemed to be too dangerous to enter. The baseball team was one of 90 entries in what was another spectacular Independence Day parade that drew more than 2,000 people from all across the region. Turkey vulture goes home with animal control
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — An animal control officer in Belle Fourche had an unexpected house guest earlier this week. Police said the officer picked up an injured turkey vulture on Tuesday. Authorities said on the police’s Facebook page, the bird spent the night at the officer’s home and was taken to the Black Hills Raptor Center on Wednesday.
