2025 NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 3

Maybe this isn’t normal but it’s part of being Trey. I always try to improve upon these types of posts every single year. I’m a sicko in the head. Sorry, but also not sorry because the Vendetta Sports Media gang will fulfill the standard of excellence you the viewer deserve with proper NFL Draft coverage. We will find the answers that exist for the 2025 NFL Draft if we simply do our homework.

Week 1 was a 30-minute read. Week 2 was a 25-minute read. You horned-up NFL Draft fans have gotten your money’s worth. It’s okay, it’s better and more freeing to admit it. Just please also show the love back and send it around because that means it’s the more I can return the favor. Just remember, the college football season is the information process. We’re learning and sharing possibilities and thoughts together to make sure we get the answer right when the card gets turned in. We’ve been statistically miles better than everyone else.

Just remember, if you watch the games, or even read my content, you already knew what this idiot couldn’t figure out on time before the season. How much do they pay that guy again and why hasn’t he donated me half his salary so that he doesn’t go on National TV and embarrass himself by saying Brock Bowers will get outscored by Ben Sinnott, only to realize two weeks in he’s totally clueless?

    K. Back on track now.

The slate this week includes UNLV vs. Kansas, Arizona vs. Kansas State, Alabama vs. Wisconsin, LSU vs. South Carolina, Oregon vs. Oregon State, Texas A&M vs. Florida, Georgia vs. Kentucky, Colorado vs. Colorado State, and UCF vs. TCU.

Bonus: Arizona State vs. Texas State

Before the Thursday Night NFL game, we plugged this game on for the first portion. We mostly came to see Cam Skattebo. Look, it was fine. Guy has heart. Runs tough. If Peyton Hillis can be on the cover of Madden then why can’t Skattebo? I want to make it clear I’m rooting for the guy.

It was an okay watch. Was I blown away? No, but my expectations this whole time have been that I’d love to make him into a fullback. If I get lucky he’s Rhamondre Stevenson with proper development. Had a bad fumble that he got back early in the game and just never truly has that high upside juice you’re looking for. Right now still a priority free agent but I wouldn’t bet against him. Finished the game with 24 carries for 62 yards and two scores. A lot of meh after lighting it up last week .

    UNLV

I came for Ricky White III. Former Michigan State guy who has started to build momentum at UNLV. He was a total ghost. Three receptions for four yards. This is a game you wanted to see him shine in against a higher tier opponent. UNLV won the game but White was a non-factor. Maybe I’ll show up again in the future but don’t count on it.

    Kansas

I know I just went on a mid-rant with Skattebo, but I think I’m doing the same with Devin Neal. Look, he’s fine. I don’t know what to tell you. They’re a Big 12 team playing a Mountain West team. He’s going to have some open running lanes. I don’t see any wow juice in the knee bend when he turns the corner. I’m not saying he’s slow but what’s the upside here? Is there any traits that are elite?

There is suddenness here but it comes in the form of a hint of lime chip that doesn’t really taste like lime and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Overall it was a more than fine performance going for 120 yards on 23 carries and then adding a 33 yard reception on top of that. I just zero high upside here. Best case I think you get a rotational backup.

He’s got a decent frame and can make you miss. Not saying there’s nothing here but I hope the team that picks him knows what they’re signing up for. I don’t have a gauge where he will get picked but he’s going to be way lower on my board compared to everyone else. I can see that coming already.

This is what I’m not sure can be argued. His quarterback is a better pure runner than he is. Am I the only one who sees that? Which is a fair take but also probably an irrelevant one considering Jalon Daniels has no shot to be a real NFL quarterback.

    Arizona

I’ll tell you this. Tetairoa McMillan… sheesh. He’s who the idiots think Drake London is. This dude McMillan is something. You can’t take your eyes off him. Absolutely enormous and actually makes / gets open. He’s going to be a hit no question about it.

I’m blown away by how good he is. Fifita misses him half the time or his numbers would be way better. He’s the real deal. Serious burst off the line. Gets by defenders off the line of scrimmage. Very physically imposing just moving around. The 50/50 ball he’s got that.

This guy truly tilts the field. In the second half, he was constantly doubled and it started to boil on 3-4 guys shadowing him. That was really the key to the game. Once the game got rolling and K State shadowed more and more guys over him, they took over. McMillan finished the game with 11 receptions for 138 yards and it honestly felt like he could have had another 100 yards lumped on top if he got better QB play. He did exactly what this game called for. Bully K State’s secondary. If anything, I was more blown away than I expected to be and I already liked him coming into the year.

I’m not sure if anyone else is picking up on these vibes but Noah Fifita looks like if Tua and Marcus Mariota had a fake baby together. Lacks arm power and has the arm sleeve tattoo like Tua. Just doesn’t have close to the touch accuracy Tua has and is a total mess in the passing game like Mariota. Better runner than Tua but short at 5-foot-10 and you see it play out. Also lacks feel. Ran into sacks and just can’t see enough to get the ball to where it needs to go. Too many times he’s just dirting balls where plays could be made.

Just a redshirt sophomore so time to improve but he’s just too limited to be taken seriously as a quarterback who carries a franchise. The only hope here is he can keep a Jordan Travis level growth and be a backup for someone. He just looks really small and if we learned anything from Bryce Young, if Heisman Alabama winner can’t do it, Fifita has no prayer.

    Kansas State

I’m very interested to see how this running back room shakes out. We’re all seeing it play out. I just don’t think the coaching staff has any real feel for what’s actually going on. DJ Giddens is fine. He finished the game with 17 carries for 86 yards and a score. He’s certainly taller than Dylan Edwards. There’s just no way he’s actually the better player.

Dylan Edwards has something to him. Low to the ground and goes. Returned a punt for a score and finished the game with six carries for 41 yards. I understand he’s the younger player but they’re on crack if they can’t see he’s the real talent.

    Alabama

I would have liked to see Jalen Milroe put up more points. Maybe that’s insane to say after they won 42-10. I just don’t think Wisconsin is that good and the defense more than did their part. A Badgers team that beat Western Michigan by the skin of their teeth.

Cleary a superior athlete and picked up yards with his legs (75 yards on 15 attempts with two scores). Maybe I’m nitpicking but way too many three and outs. Got a ton of linebacker spies on him and there are times it’s slowing him down more than it should. Still just too damn fast with his feet and it changes the game. The offensive line for the most part is really solid too, which makes a huge difference that can’t be ignored. He’s the best athlete on the field. Sometimes he acts like it. Sometimes he doesn’t. But it’s just enough to make you believe he can be something. He’s definitely getting better as a passer. You can see DeBoer oozing into him. Starting to leave games being more efficient. Still a zero in the intermediate passing game.

Germie Bernard cooked Ricardo Hallman for a touchdown before halftime. Something that should be viewed as notable because Hallman is a stud. Just think Bernard is too. DeBoer brought him from Washington and think he will gain steam as the season goes along.

Deontae Lawson is a damn stud! Guy just does everything. The ultimate grown up. Stuffs a fourth and one run. Deflects a RPO pass. Strips Yacamelli on a fumble. He’s the closest thing to CJ Mosely I’ve seen them have since the man himself. He’s damn good.

Jihaad Campbell’s momentum looks real. Not even sure what he is yet but he’s finding his groove. Very easy to see.

LT Overton was kinda all over the place too. Sack, TFL, deflection. Was doing it all.

Keon Sabb keeps making plays in the backend too. Bama may have gotten a gem there.

    Wisconsin

Time to stick a fork in Tyler Van Dyke. Never want this kind of stuff to happen but it’s definitely over for him now. Looked rough in Week 1, and he was benched/forced to move on at Miami for a reason. Now we have a non-contact knee injury for a player who is already incredibly stiff in the lower half.

Similar with Chez Mellusi. The fork has already been in him. Had an egregious fumble in this one. Stuff like that just can’t happen. He’s way worse than Tawee Walker and he’s not even talented. Was actually okay with 61 yards on 11 carries but it’s all meh even when it’s good.

    LSU

The stud tackles going up against this young pass rusher was the key to the game coming into it. A team that employs two first round tackles got their ass kicked up front. No way around it. Coming into the game both of those stud tackles allowed zero sacks. That’s no longer the case after this game.

Two sacks and 6 TFLs later. Keep in mind, South Carolina defense was on the field a ton once Robby Ashford couldn’t move the ball. I’d argue Will Campbell looked terrible and Emery Jones looked slightly above average. That’s just eyeball test but I don’t know how you can watch that and not have an eyebrow raised. How good are those LSU tackles? I think they’re good but after that one? How high are we really talking?

I really like Garrett Nussmeier. I’ll keep saying it. It’s the little things. Poised and under control. Was under heat and just makes throws in spots nobody else pulls off. How do you not like him? LSU was facing heat early and he could have easily folded. Instead, he’s throwing darts while being hit. Hits a sexy slot fade over the top on a dot. When does he do the wrong thing? Putting the ball where it needs to be, which is easier said than done. Anthony Richardson would kill someone to put balls in spots the way Nussmeier does.

Say whatever you want but the guy had a hell of a performance on the road in a tough environment. Had that one play with the snap miscommunication. Got fooled on a pick in the red zone. Other than that, it was just ropes that normal college quarterbacks don’t make.

Nussmeier finished the game 24/40 for 285 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick. I thought the best thing he pulled off was the ability to make throws under pressure and not fold. Takes toughness to make it and Nussmeier keeps showing it in spades. Live and die by the gunslinger but this dude can play.

Enough with this off ball linebacker nonsense. We’re all watching the games, right? Harold Perkins should be a pass rusher. Let him go hunt the quarterback. That’s what he does best. Had three tackles and one TFL in this one. I just don’t get what we’re doing here? Let the guy hunt. Not just sometimes. It should be 9% of every snap he takes the field.

Sai’von Jones with another good game. One sack and TFL each. 6-foot-6, 280 frame looks intriguing just moving around out there.

    South Carolina

I think the Rocket Sanders we saw at Arkansas is gone. Looks like he lost a step but that doesn’t mean he sucks. Still has some short area quickness and the power looks better. Never said he was slow. Clearly had enough in the juice tank to go for a 66 yard house call. Still has some qualities you like. He looks a bit slimmer from the 240+ frame he used to be. At least has some speed left in the tank. Had a quality showing with 19 carries for 143 yards and two scores. We’re leaving him in the mix but the Combine here will be revealing.

South Carolina has some real pass rushing gems. The freak freshman being the most notable one. I was ready to praise Kyle Kennard but his two penalties at the end of the game killed the team. Kennard the pass rusher had such a great game and blew it at the end. Idiotic penalty on what would have been a game-winning pick-six. Then jumps off side on a crucial down late in the 4th.

You’re either coaching it or allowing it to happen so maybe it’s a product of bad discipline. He wasn’t the only one and bad penalties shot this team in the foot the entire game. Still had some big moments in this one with 1.5 sacks and 2.5 TFLs.

This corner O’Donnell Fortune has some serious length on him. Made a really nice pass deflection play early in the first quarter. Didn’t really do much beyond that but I guess it’s probably a good thing that Kyren Lacy didn’t totally kill them in this one.

Deebo Williams is a player we talked about in the past. He made a real impact in this one too. Made the play when it needed to be made on his part. Has some similar vibes to Henry To’oTo’o. Not sure how fast he is. Remains the biggest question.

Robby Ashford blows. We had that covered from the start. LaNorris Sellers though…

Doesn’t this want to make you watch the ECU series ? Give the ECU series some love!!!

Bonus: Can someone who is smart try to turn Thomas Castellanos into the next Taysom Hill? Why can’t someone smart make this happen?

This South Carolina / LSU game also went on forever so the 3:30 window games I was late to the party with. It is what it is. South Carolina pissed this game away with numerous flags and Sellers going down. Not to mention the missed kick at the end of the game that would have sent it into overtime. The game ended at 4:13 EST so that’s when I will resume for the Oregon/Florida window.

    Oregon

Jordan James is a stud. It’s every game that looks the same. 12 carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns in this one. Averaged 7.1 yards per carry in over 100 attempts last year. Constantly efficient. Has speed. 210 and built better than smaller Oregon backs of the past. Catches the ball well. Bucky Irving kept this guy off the field and we’re seeing already how good Bucky looks at the NFL level. We might really have something here.

Dillon Gabriel is way faster than he gets credit for. Is a real athlete and that’s important based on the lack of height. He’s accurate. You have to give him that too. On the older side and this should be a team he leads to a big win even on the road. Has much better talent on his side of the ball. This was a walk-in-the-park performance and it should have been with the number of departures Oregon State has had. Height is not on his side but ball placement is.

    Oregon State

We can talk a bit about these two backs. Anthony Hankerson led the way with 15 carries for 57 yards and two scores. Jam Griffin had seven carries for 27 yards. Both are limited and camp invites. Griffin has been around forever and is a much older guy.

    Texas A&M

I do like this Nic Scourton. Big thick body and finds a way to get into the backfield a lot. I’m just not quite sure how good, good he is. I’m skeptical this turns into a pass rusher monster that racks up double digit sacks but convinced he can probably help someone.

Marcel Reed, who had a great Bowl game last year, got the start in this one. Just looked way better. Obviously a better athlete but the throwing was much better than what Connor Weigman provided too. He’s way better than Kellen Mond was. I’m more so talking about the fact that Reed playing like this is not good for the Weigman stock.

Le’Veon Moss got cooking a bit with 110 yard performance. It’s all that was really needed to burn the clock and finish the bum Gators off. Still want to see more work for EJ Smith the rest of the way. Six carries for 24 yards for Smith in this one.

    Florida

Starting Graham Mertz is a waste of time. Hopefully, dummy Billy Napier has finally figured that out. It’s time to go to the young kid. Florida went down 10-0 to start the game and here comes Lagway. Except a weather delay kicked in.

They come back from the delay and it’s pouring. Lagway gets one drive and comes out of the game. Back to Mertz. It’s musical chairs of nonsense. Both are turning the ball over. The whole thing is just a circus.

I’m not sure what can be said beyond the fact that Napier clearly needs to be fired.

    Bonus: East Carolina Update!!!

I feel like I have to say something. Pick six for Shavon Revel in this one and he looked awesome in the game. In season number one for the series I’m doing, he was clearly the best player on the team. He might be like legit NFL level good and that’s not ECU homer coming in. He didn’t play NFL good in the video game but he’s been fantastic watching the games.

    Georgia

You could tell this was Kentucky’s Super Bowl. They got hammered the week before and the season was on the line. Georgia really couldn’t get anything going in the first half. 15/24 for 160 yards for Carson Beck. It’s weird because this seems to be a routine where Georgia stinks it up in their first conference road game of the year. What do you do with this Beck performance? Probably nothing other than to hopefully use it as a launching point for the rest of the season. Don’t see any reason to panic. Made the throws at the end of the game to properly seal it. Just would like to see him more often have those carry the team moments.

Some other quick hitters include Ben Yurosek looks unplayable, Oscar Delp doesn’t look like Brock Bowers at all and almost fumbled the game away, Trevor Etienne looked alright in his first real game back, and Jalon Walker… stock way up. Total freak coming off the edge.

    Kentucky

Brock Vandagriff revenge game? Couldn’t have played worse last week so the arrow was always going to point up, at least a little. Passed his yardage total in the first quarter this week. It’s not like he has zero arm talent. Can throw a ball with some juice on it.

I’m sure it definitely helps that he was in the Georgia system and has a handle on how they want to attack. It was an admirable performance but no reason to get excited. Still averaged four yards per pass. Albeit against a way better team with a shaky line.

Glad to see Barion Brown get back in the stat sheet. Was held catchless last week in the blowout loss to South Carolina last week. Just three receptions for 34 yards but he’s talented.

    Colorado

One of the hardest things to do with these quarterbacks is to determine the line between good and great. I’m pretty positive Shedeur is good. He just does too many things well. He makes splash throws down the field and they are on time and on target. You rarely leave a game and feel like he screwed it up. Usually does the right thing on the field. I’m just not sure he’s in the great category. A lot of times he feels like Tyrod Taylor with human evolution. Which is a really good player. Isn’t that acceptable? Especially when everyone trashed the guy before having evidence of doing so ( I remember )?

First drive of the game, ball behind Sheppard to start. He for sure holds onto the ball too long but how much of that is coaching disorganization? Give him this. He’s really good about adjusting himself to plant off the back foot while keeping his eye level down the field. For the most part, he completes balls and they’re not dinks and dunks.

Finished the game with 36/49 for 310 yards and four scores. Oh, and Travis Hunter is still ridiculous. Just putting his stats in here feels disrespectful to how good he is. Two receiving touchdowns while keeping in mind he’s playing basically every snap on both sides of the ball. I’m pretty sure he’s an alien and not actually human.

    Colorado State

I’m here for Tory Horton who came into this game banged up. Definitely wasn’t 100%. Left the game early. It sucks because he popped off in this one last year and CSU needed it to have any chance. The positive is we already did the homework here and hope he’s right in time for the Senior Bowl stuff.

    UCF

This man KJ Jefferson just can’t figure it out. No light bulb moment. I gotta have some of these throws and he’s still not making the necessary leap. I understand it’s Malzahn and his goofball bag of tricks but the pure accuracy continues to just not be good enough. I have no idea how they found a way to win this game but regardless, the throwing part of his game is just not good enough. He’s like watching a glitch run into a wall over and over and over again.

I guess give him credit for the comeback but at some point, it’s just not worth celebrating.

Kobe Hudson was on the receiving end of a lot of it. Six catches for 145 yards and two scores. RJ Harvey was a beast on the ground too with 29 carries for 180 yards and two scores.

    TCU

This receiver Savion Williams might be something here. Guy made some incredible catches in the end zone to shift the tides in TCU’s favor. This catch radius has to count for something. Check this cheese out.
