Did John Fisher use ChatGPT to write his letter to A’s fans?

Just when you thought the Oakland A’s organization couldn’t get any more unserious, they pulled a new rabbit out of the dysfunctional hat.

The A’s began their final home stand last weekend against the Yankees. Starting tomorrow, Sept. 24, the team will play its final series in Oakland ever, matching up against the Texas Rangers.

In preparation for the final series, owner John Fisher sent out a letter to A’s fans. I’ll let you read it below because quite frankly I can’t get through it without getting upset.

While the letter itself is a whole other rant we can get into, what’s even more pathetic is it doesn’t even seem like it came from a real person, let alone Fisher actually growing the pair needed to write it himself.

Kyle Bonagura of ESPN asked ChatGPT to write a letter from Fisher to A’s fans. When the AI program responded, the letter ChatGPT wrote was almost identical to the letter Fisher sent.

Seriously, what the f***? This man refused to pay minor leaguers during the pandemic until he was publicly scolded. Someone who’d rather pocket revenue sharing money over putting it towards the competitiveness of the team ( which he’s been punished for before .)

How low do you have to go to send out an AI written letter. Even if it wasn’t, he wouldn’t write that. He probably told one of his PR munchkins to write something quick up to show they “care about Oakland.”

This wasn’t even the biggest news surrounding the A’s today. A few months ago, team president Dave Kaval said the 2024 season would celebrate the 56 years the A’s called Oakland home.

Part of that “celebration” was giving away a replica Coliseum on the final game in Oakland, which is this Thursday.

No one knew what it would look like until today, when the prominent fan group LastDiveBar leaked an image of the giveaway.

This looks like something I would’ve made in the fifth grade with clay. Genuinely, who the hell made that? It’s also not even accurate. Here’s an actual picture of the Coliseum, and you can see Mt. Davis is NOT stacking so high.

On top of how awful it looks, the way the A’s are giving it out is also diabolical. Normally, teams will hand out giveaway items before the game.

Instead, the A’s are going to handout vouchers to the first 25,000 fans when the gates open. Then, starting in the 7th inning up until one hour after the game is over, fans can turn in their voucher to collect the piss poor replica.

It’s the A’s way of getting fans out as quickly as possible. Really showing you want to “celebrate Oakland” by trying to push fans out of the stadium as quickly as possible, when many fans will be saying their final goodbye to the stadium and possibly their fandom.

It adds insult after this article done by ESPN’s Tim Keown. Outfielder JJ Bleday said the players were told to quickly leave once the game was over to avoid any emotions from A’s fans.

Apparently, Fisher and Kaval are so dense they think fans want to attack the players. They hate you, not the team. The players are the only reason fans still show up, and a lot of them have voiced their wish to stay in the East Bay.

I’ll be in attendance on Wednesday and possibly Thursday. I’ll say my final goodbyes to the Coliseum, but with the crap show that Fisher has created, this week may be my final time as an A’s fan.

I wish nothing more than to see Sacramento and/or Vegas flop (it probably will) and for Fisher to either sell or come crawling back to Oakland.

Dave Kaval needs to be banned from baseball and the A’s
