2024 NFL Season: Week 3 Overreactions

We are three weeks through the 2024 NFL Season! What are a few of our overreactions after Week 3? Let’s ask the team!

    Alex Chick III:

    The Raiders fucking suck.

I’ll be doing mock drafts from here on out. Luke Getsky sucks. Why did they pay great value uncle Rico the big bucks to suck? Raiders suck.

    Trey Daubert:

    Seahawks are a playoff team.

Mike Macdonald is the real deal. Everybody that comes from that defense tree just makes a difference. The new USC guy came from that tree and look at the miracles he’s pulling off. This hire at minimum is going to make Seattle’s defense way better. They did the right thing moving off Pete Carroll.

    Christopher Bagdonas:

Malik Nabers will be in the QB-proof bracket of receivers by the end of the season.

The Browns are a straight-up good defense and he had a game for the ages in only his third NFL contest. A separate overreaction could be that he is so good that he saves Daniel Jones ’ job. I won’t go that far, but it’s hard not to love to see him ball out like this so far. If he can make a statement on primetime against Dallas, then it could make what many think will be a bad season for the Giants much less unbearable.

    Mitchell McHugh:

    Trevor Lawrence is not “him.”

He is an average and often subpar quarteback, which he has shown this year.

Malik Willis proved he belongs in the NFL.

He could potentially get a starting role somewhere next season (maybe a team like the Titans which would be ironic).

The Vikings aren’t a fluke and Sam Darnold is revitalizing his career .

I could see them sticking with him next year if he keeps playing like this.

    Pederson Considering Benching Lawrence

    Matt Hanifan:

No coordinator–on either side of the football–is better than Brian Flores right now.

Breaking news: Coaching matters! The Minnesota Vikings defense–without multiple bodies on that secondary, mind you–is third in EPA/play, fourth in success rate, fifth in EPA/dropback and sixth in EPA/play against the rush. Outside of Daniel Jones, his defenses have flummoxed Brock Purdy and C.J. Stroud in consecutive weeks. There aren’t very many–if any–defenses playing as well as Minnesota is right now, and Flores deserves all the credit in the world for that. He faces another tough test in Green Bay in Week 4, who caused him trouble in Week 17 last season.

It’s time for Miami to part with Chris Grier

Grier has been with the Dolphins organization for over two decades without a playoff win. They’re in an impossible situation right now with Tua Tagovailoa , but running it back with Skylar Thompson as a backup with career journeyman Tim Boyle off the practice squad … isn’t it. Mike McDaniel didn’t coach a good game Sunday, but he had one hand tied behind his back. I don’t think the Dolphins are particularly well-run with Grier at the helm and it’s becoming more apparent by the day.

The Bills are, currently, the undisputed Super Bowl favorites.

It’s too early to be making Super Bowl predictions. There’s still way too much football to be played. But Buffalo should be the clear favorite as of this writing. In a league where quarterback play has been very subpar through the early portion of the season, nobody behind center is playing as well as Josh Allen . He has 17 total touchdowns to zero interceptions over his last five games, even with a below-average receiving core. He’s playing the best football of his life, and the rest of the team is clicking, even without Matt Milano . Monday night proved it and then some.
