Davante Adams Traded To New York Jets

Davante Adams is finally on the move after weeks of speculation. Unsurprisingly, it is to none other than MetLife Stadium where he reconnects with Aaron Rodgers. The New York Jets are acquiring the former All-Pro receiver for a conditional third round per Ian Rapoport. After playing a reduced role this season (three games, 18 receptions, 209 yards and a touchdown), the alarm bells started ringing. The relationship between the former Fresno State wideout and head coach Antonio Pierce did not seem solid from the start. After recently requesting a trade, his wish is now granted.

Check out the full details of the deal below:

Adams entered the season with four consecutive 1,000-plus yard seasons under his belt. Even at age 32, it appears that he has plenty left in the tank and will contribute to a Jets receiving core that needs it. Despite finally being healthy, Rodgers hasn’t exactly flown the offense up and down the field like fans have been hoping for. Things could look up for them with former OROY Garrett Wilson now on the other side of the field of AR’s longtime teammate.

    Too Little Too Late?

The truth of the matter is Joe Douglas couldn’t be more lucky with how the season transpired. Tua Tagovailoa’s injury means the Dolphins are pretty much out of the playoff picture in 2024. Furthermore, the Patriots’ are in Year One of the post-Belichick rebuild and pose no threat. For the division at least, it’s between the Jets and the Bills. Had Miami still remained in the mix, there’s a real chance Douglas doesn’t make it to the end of the season. He has constructed this team seemingly with Super Bowl aspirations in mind. However, there are still clear deficiencies that must be addressed. However, that cannot be done with all of the draft capital that’s flown out of the window.

They will in all likelihood reach the playoffs this year but after that it’s anybody’s guess. There’s also a chance we witness a classic Jets collapse and they miss the dance again. In any event, Baltimore, Buffalo, and Kansas City are the heavy hitters of the AFC until further notice.

Davante Adams to the Jets felt like a possibility as soon as Aaron Rodgers left Green Bay. Now more than 18 months later, it is happening.

Aaron Rodgers again gets his way and gets another one of his buddies from Green Bay to try and help resurrect his miserable ass, just retire, disappear, go away, something, I'm sick of seeing and hearing about your cry baby ass.
