    Titans Cut Jamal Adams

Jamal Adams’s time in Nashville is already at a close. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Tennesse Titans have agreed to release the veteran Saftey.

This comes after Adams played just 20 defensive snaps over three games this season. The only stats he has to show for those games are four total tackles. Jamal getting cut really isn’t that big of a surprise, as he is considered to be a highly injury-prone player now. The days of Adams being a pro-bowler like he was in New York and Seattle are long gone.

    A Lingering Injury

Adams had not practiced at all this week leading up to his release. Per NBC Sports , the Titans recently put Jamal Adams on the non-football injury list. This is because of a hip injury he has been dealing with since joining the Titans this off-season.

Now that he has been released, he can sign with any team he chooses. Whether any team will offer him a contract is a different story. Adams was once an elite Saftey in the league, especially when it came to getting pressure on the quarterback. Some of you may recall his nickname, “blitz-boy.” He simply isn’t the same player anymore. Jamal Adams is injury-riddled and has missed more games than he has played in the last four seasons.

The Titans granted Adams’s 29th birthday wish and cut him today. It may be the last one that he spends on an NFL roster. Per ESPN , Titan’s defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson had this to say on the matter, “ At this point, wish Jamal all the best going forward, it just didn’t work out here. He’ll have great success wherever he goes .”

I’m not sure I have the same confidence in Jamal Adams as Dennard Wilson does, but it will be interesting to see if a team gives him another shot.
