VENICE — Brent Douglas of St. Petersburg will return as artistic director and conductor of Venice Chorale, the chorale’s Board of Directors announced.

“His inaugural season brought new energy and excitement to the Chorale’s performances, and the coming season promises more transformative experiences for both performers and audiences alike,” a press release from the Venice Chorale stated.

Along with Douglas, the Chorale welcomes back Alyssa Adamson as Youth Chorus director and Natalia Van Genderen as principal choral accompanist. Together, this team will bring three main concerts to the Venice Performing Arts Center under the themes of holidays, pops and masterworks.

The season kicks off on Dec. 16 with “Classic Carols, Modern Mirth: A Holiday Extravaganza.” This is a joyous musical journey where the past meets the present, warming hearts and lifting spirits in the true essence of the holiday season.

On Feb, 23, the choir will present “Stars and Stripes: Celebrating Great American Songs,” from beloved patriotic anthems to iconic tunes from Broadway and beyond, showcasing the diverse melodies that have shaped the nation’s cultural landscape.

The April 27, season finale is “Black and Blue: A Journey Along the Danube,” taking visitors on the Blue Danube’s voyage to the Black Sea through enchanting classical masterpieces and featuring The Venice Symphony Ensemble.
