SARASOTA — Choral Artists of Sarasota’s 45th season concludes with “United We Stand,” a Memorial Day concert today, according to a news release.

Artistic Director Joseph Holt stated in a news release the musical “serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women who have died in service to our country, and a time to reflect on the true cost of freedom."

Choral Artists will take place in the 80th commemoration ceremonies of D-Day in Normandy, France, in June, he noted.

"There will be a poignant musical reflection of the thousands of servicemen who gave their lives on that fateful day,” he said.

The program includes music from “Saving Private Ryan” plus “Hymn to the Fallen,” “Amazing Grace” with bagpipes as well as “The Testament of Freedom;" a big band tribute, patriotic songs, a tribute to the armed forces and more.

The Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble will perform a tribute to Arlington National Cemetery and other music.

This performance “will offer a unique opportunity for Sarasota audiences to hear a preview of the group’s tour to France and will also serve as a solemn moment to reflect upon the brave service women and men who have fought so valiantly for our country and freedom around the world,” Holt stated in the release.
