Bernadette Cecile (Durette) Warren, 85, died on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Venice, Florida.

"Bernie," who was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, in 1939, is survived by Robert Warren, with whom she celebrated her 45th wedding anniversary in June.

After they retired to Florida, they enjoyed an active social life for many years at Bay Indies. Bernie was active with the Red Hat Society, Bay Indies Chorus, water aerobics, and the New England Club. She and Bob had many friends in the community.

Bernie was the daughter of Emile and Marie Anne (Martin) Durette. She attended St. John the Baptist Elementary School and graduated from Saint Marie High School. She worked for insurance companies as a claims processor, retiring from Healthsource (now Cigna Healthcare).

Bernie was the proverbial green thumb and enjoyed caring for her house plants and flower garden. She also had a love for photos and took her camera everywhere to capture life's precious moments and often shared prints with family and friends.

She loved all things Hallmark, including the TV channel, greeting cards, and keepsakes. Bernie cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her later years, she also developed a passion for watching the Tampa Bay Rays with her husband, Bob.

Bernie had three sons and a daughter: Steven Cote of Manchester, New Hampshire, Michael Cote and his wife, Jeanne of Manchester; Brian Cote and his wife, Linda, of Manchester; and Karen Seifert and her husband, Jeff Seifert, of Durham, North Carolina. She had three stepsons: Norman Warren of Sarasota, Florida; Erik Warren of Hayesville, North Carolina; and the late Robert "Bobby" Warren.

Bernie had seven brothers and sisters, including the late Roland E. Durette, of Woodruff, Wisconsin; Father Roberto Durette, OMI, of Siglo XX, Bolivia; Pauline Rousseau of Melbourne Beach, Florida; Paul Durette of Naples; Andrew Durette of Venice; Philippe Durette of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and Rita Therrien of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Her grandchildren include Jonathan Malloy, Colin Cote, Paul, Ben and Eric Cote, Matthew and Lili Cote, Nicholas Seifert, Brittany Blasucci (and her children Chase and Briella), Michael O'Leary, Jessica Cusack (and her children Aria and Charlie) and Cara LaRosa. Her great-grandchildren also include Malcolm and River Cote and Jack Cote. She had many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Catholic Funeral Service is being planned for November 7, 2024, at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, Florida.

The family would like to thank Tidewell Hospice for their care and support over the last six months.
