    The Venice Symphony to host 'A Symphonic Spooktacular'

    The Venice Symphony is offering a family-friendly “Spooktacular” concert.

    The symphony, led by Music Director Troy Quinn, is presenting “A Symphonic Spooktacular” concert, a family-friendly event that promises a magical evening filled with music, costumes and treats Oct. 11-12 at the Venice Performing Arts Center, according to a news release.

    “For the first time, The Venice Symphony will begin its season in October, with Troy Quinn and the orchestra performing “A Symphonic Spooktacular,” growing our season to eight concert weekends and giving you one more opportunity to experience The Symphony,” Christine Kasten, president/CEO, said in an email message.

    “With school back in session we’re encouraging music lovers of all ages to come out to the Venice Performing Arts Center by offering student and Florida educator discounts. We hope to see many local families for our ‘not-so-spooky’ October concert series, it’s one of many ways we’re hoping to inspire a love of symphonic music this season.”

    The Venice Symphony is offering a 50% discount for students and a 25% discount for Florida educators. To redeem special discounts, purchases must be made through the box office by calling 941-207-8822 or in person at 700 U.S. Highway 41 Bypass N., Suite 4, Venice.

    “We’re excited to partner with Venice Florida Tours to raffle off the experience of a Venice Ghost Tour where locals and visitors can learn about local hauntings throughout the suncoast,” the news release said.

    Attendees are encouraged to wear their not-so-spooky Halloween costumes.

    Concert experience highlights include:

    • Costume Parade: Children and adults are welcome to dress in their Halloween best. “Come in your favorite costume and join the Halloween fun,” the release says.

    • Trick or Treating: “Enjoy a festive atmosphere with treats and surprises throughout the venue.”

    • Raffle for Prizes: “Enter a raffle to win two tickets to a Haunted History Tour by Venice Florida Tours.”

    • Family-Friendly Music: “Experience an enchanting selection of spooky and whimsical pieces performed by The Venice Symphony.”
