Englewood Water District announces precautionary boil water notice

ENGLEWOOD — The Englewood Water District announced a precautionary water boil notice to all of its customers in the Englewood area on Friday.

“Because of damages sustained by Hurricane Milton, it was necessary to shut down the entire water distribution system,” the announcement states. “As water service is restored, we advise all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled.”

A rolling boil of 1 minute will purify water for consumption.

People may also drink bottled water.

The precautionary boil water notice remains in effect until further notice.

Charlotte County Utilities has not issued a precautionary water boil for its customers.
