Blonien, Darr in lead groups as U.S. Women’s Amateur begins Monday at Southern Hills
The two Oklahoma residents competing in the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Southern Hills Country Club will be among the first to take a shot when the competition begins Monday. Natalie Blonien of Altus will be in the first group to tee off at 7:15 a.m. on the first hole. Lucy Darr of Stillwater will tee off at the same time on hole 10. The tournament will feature 18 holes of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday with the top 64 advancing to match play beginning Wednesday and concluding with the 36-hole final on Sunday.
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Drops 20 points in win
Gilgeous-Alexander posted 20 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-13 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Canada's 88-85 win over Spain on Friday. Gilgeous-Alexander has unsurprisingly been integral to Canada's undefeated run in the group stage of the Olympics, and he's scored at least 20 points in two of his three appearances. He was particularly effective from the charity stripe Friday and drained several late free throws to help clinch the win. Gilgeous-Alexander should remain heavily involved during the knockout round.

Man arrested after allegedly slapping a Bartlesville police officer
A Bartlesville man was in Washington County District Court on Friday after allegations that he assaulted an officer on Thursday night. 63-year-old Hans Weemer faces charges of assault and battery of an officer after authorities say an officer arrived to where Weemer was located on the 200 block of Queenstown Ave. An arrest affidavit says that when an officer arrived to the location, it was confirmed that Weemer had been drinking since that morning and had lost his job.
