Vermont State Police provide update in search for missing Bennington man
WHITINGHAM, Vt. — Vermont State Police were notified on Aug. 23 that two fishermen had located a kayak that was believed to belong to 59-year-old Matthew Houskeeper, of Bennington.Houskeeper was reported missing on Aug. 14,2024. His abandoned vehicle was found on Tunnel Street by the Sherman Reservoir in Whitingham on Aug. 16.

Delayed opening for Moretown Elementary School
Damage to the Moretown Elementary School from last month’s flooding will delay the opening of the school until August 29. Over 30 people show up for Fun Run
Over 30 people showed up for the Harwood Union cross-country summer Fun Run last Wednesday, August 14, at Crossett Brook Middle School. Organizers reported that a lot of families came to run together. Jackson Migonis of Waterbury took first place in the kids followed by Ryder and Maverick Lessor of Moretown and Ada Reid of Middlesex. Riley Isham of Duxbury took first place in the 3K with a time of 19:49 followed by Kassie Reid of Middlesex at 20:00 and Heather Lessor of Moretown at 20:10.
