State’s Attorney Secures Life Sentence for 22-Year-Old Following Guilty Verdict in Violent Murder of Three Elderly Danville Men

On July 2, 2024, State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy secured a sentence of natural life in prison for Cloanger Robinson (DOB: 12/21/2001), formerly of Danville, Illinois, for the horrific murders of three men, which occurred at one of the victims’ homes in Danville.
Independence Day Parade, Commode Races Part of Oakwood Festivities
OAKWOOD — Just like New York’s Coney Island is known for its hot dog eating contest on the Fourth of July, Oakwood has its Commode Races returning. The Commode Races are just like they sound. There’s a team of four, ages 13 and up, with one rider sitting on a commode and three pushers pushing the commode on a cart. They race about a block’s length to determine a winner. The winning team receives a golden toilet trophy award.
