Cal Poly alumni, and San Luis Obispo native, Brooke Thomas Lee, has been called up to the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday afternoon during their game against the Detroit Tigers. Lee is now the 24th Cal Poly baseball player to make it to the majors, and the 15th under his father, Cal Poly baseball head coach Larry Lee.

New north Minneapolis trail construction set to begin next week
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Construction is set to begin next week on a mixed-use riverfront trail in north Minneapolis that will extend a popular regional trail. The new riverfront trail segment will connect Ole Olson Park and the 26th Avenue North Overlook, creating a new 1,000-foot trail in the process that officials hope will add "new riverside experiences" to the area for pedestrians and cyclists. The trail also connects the 26th Avenue North Overlook to the downtown riverfront and the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway – a 51-mile continuous bike/walk trail that circles most of Minneapolis.

The Northfield fireworks display originally scheduled for last night was postponed because of the threat of severe weather and has instead been rescheduled for tonight. The fireworks will begin at 10pm at Northfield Middle School. A statement issued by the city of Northfield advises people to plan ahead and allow for extra time to get to a viewing spot, due to road construction on Jefferson Parkway. Viewing areas near the fireworks display include the Northfield Middle School parking lot and south fields, Tyler Park, and the fields north of Jefferson Parkway. A statement issued by the City of Northfield asked those going to or watching the fireworks to please not block roads, streets, sidewalks, trails or driveways.
