The program at St. Paul Technical College was started by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. It’s designed to bring skilled meat cutters into the industry, which has lost jobs over the years due to a lack of training in the workforce.

Donut Star first opened in Burnsville during the 70s. In 2022, new owners purchased it, did a full renovation and brought a new approach to donuts. Everything is made by hand in-house and they focus on the classics. Now they’ve added a second location in Lakeville at 7656 160th St W. It’s open Wednesday through Friday 6 a.m. - 12 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Burnsville Police Department Celebrates Promotions and Welcomes New Officers in Formal Ceremony

The Burnsville Police Department recognized the promotions and new member inductions of nine dedicated law enforcement professionals this week. As seen in an announcement made on their social media page, Deputy Chief Matt Smith, Captains Andrea Newton and Shaun Anselment, Sergeant Ashley Nacey, and Officers Ben Zappa, Dustin Jensen, Cameron Conlin, Aaron Swenson, and Cait Kavanaugh received accolades for their new positions within the department. The formal ceremony, marking these professionals' ascent in ranks, underscores the department's commitment to acknowledging the hard work and leadership of its members.

Minneapolis murder suspect to return to Olmsted County if released from Hennepin jail
(ABC 6 News) – The suspect in a Minneapolis murder case appeared in Olmsted County Court Friday on one charge of interfering with a dead body. Margot Lewis appeared remotely Friday, July 5, where Judge Debra Jacobson and the prosecution determined that if the defendant was released from Hennepin County custody in the future, Lewis would return to Olmsted County custody on $1M bail.
