Sharks compete in Middlebury, prepare for Vermont state championship
ST. ALBANS - The St. Albans Sharks swim teams competed in Middlebury on Thursday, July 18, seeing many swimmers race to first place finishes. The teams will travel to Winooski for the CVSL League Championships from July 26 to the 27. The Vermont State Championships take place from August 2 to 4 in White River Junction. Swimmers must qualify in order to participate in the state championship, and the Sharks plan to take swimmers ranging from age 5 to 18. The St. Albans Sharks earned a historic second place overall out of 20 teams at last year’s state championship.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont announced that Ronald Harris, 32, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on Wednesday by Chief United States District Judge Geoffrey Crawford to 100 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. Harris had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine base, fentanyl, and heroin.
