2 sheriff's deputies injured after chase from Compton to Long Beach ends in crash
Two sheriff's deputies were injured, and at least one of them was taken to the hospital, after a chase came to a crashing end in Long Beach overnight.The pursuit involved a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. It started around 4 a.m. in Compton and made its way over to Long Beach, where the suspect vehicle crashed on Atlantic Boulevard, north of the 91 Freeway.One of the pursuing sheriff's vehicles crashed into an island and a tree shortly after that.Two deputies were hurt and one was taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not known.Up to four suspects were taken into custody in connection with the chase. It's unclear if any of them were injured.

Suspects jump out of moving car and run into neighborhood after police chase through South LA
Police are chasing a possibly drunk driver in South LA. The pursuit began just after 9:10 p.m. and Los Angeles Police Department officers could be seen chasing the white Infiniti G35 with blacked out windows and no license plates throughout surface streets in the area. At times, the driver could be seen driving on the wrong side of the road, sometimes swerving around other cars driving along the same road. A long line of patrol cars could be seen following close behind. At around 9:30 p.m., the suspect drove over a spike strip laid in the middle of the street near W. 62nd Street and Figueroa Street, but continued driving. Some smoke could be seen showing from the back tires. A short time later the driver and a passenger, both wearing hoodies, jumped out of the car and ran into the neighborhood just a block away. The car continued to roll away despite no one behind the wheel. Both suspects were able to evade officers, jumping over fences and running through backyards in the area. LAPD officers established a large perimeter as they continue to search for the suspects. At around 11:30 p.m., officers reported that both had finally been taken into custody. No further information was provided.
