A department-issued K-9 was deployed and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle, officials wrote.

Investigators said a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in locating a firearm, a couple of smoking devices, and a clear plastic baggy containing a crystalized substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Piechowiak was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
