The plans for the former home of the Playboy Club in Vernon are starting take shape.

Vernon Mayor Anthony Rossi, who previously said that the property sold back in March, said in a Facebook post that the sale has been finalized and the town's attorney's have deemed the transaction legal as of Friday.

The Sussex County location was most recently known as Legends Resort & Country Club, which replaced the Playboy Club after it closed in the early 1980s.

Other companies sought to purchase the properties after Legend's closing. Hedge Fund, Liberated Energy, planned to offer $12 million for the site in 2018. Then Vernon Howard Burrell offered guidelines to the current owner that were rejected due to it being too lenient on the next buyer.

Here is what we know about the new owner and what is set to come at the former Playboy Club location.

    Vernon Mayor announced new hotel

Rossi announced on his Facebook page that the Route 517 property has been sold to an affiliate of Lockwood Hotels.

The plan calls for a 300-room internationally branded hotel, a world class "super spa," 150 residential condos and headline concerts, said the mayor.

More information about the new property is to come in the future, according to Rossi.
