The Vero Beach Museum of Art will host Billboard Bonanza, a large-scale public art project inspired by the “Rock ‘N’ Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip: Photographs by Robert Landau” exhibition, on July 27. The activity is part of the Museum Studios program, a free admission day at the museum.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests can paint a section of a pre-designed image celebrating the vibrant and dynamic spirit of the rock ‘n’ roll era. This collaborative project invites artists of all ages to express their creativity while connecting to the history of music and exploring billboard advertising as a public art form.

Guests can also enjoy docent-led mini-tours of the VBMA and discover complementary themes in the widely popular exhibition, on view to September 15.

In addition to Billboard Bonanza, join the museum for exhibition-related activities, including: The Evolutionary Art of the Music Video: Rock and Roll and Beyond , a journey through the evolution of the music video—from the 1960s to the digital era—curated and narrated by Xaque Gruber, August 17; “Art Talk—Sunset Strip: The 1970’s Rock Art Gallery,” a docent-led tour of select artworks, August 21; and “Good Day Sunshine State: The Beatles in 1964 Florida,” a free lecture of Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, author, and historian Bob Kealing’s primary interviews, letters, photographs, and court transcripts of The Beatles’ impact on Florida, August 31.
