A Rare and Odd Earthquake Just Shook Bull Shoals Lake in Missouri
Southern Missouri is one of the most seismically-active areas in America, so it's not strange for earthquakes to happen in that region. They happen all the time, but I cannot remember one centered in Bull Shoals Lake in Missouri like the one that just hit late Saturday night. The USGS...
Day One Highlights From The 2024 Lake Of The Ozarks Shootout
Before the first 15 runs were done during the first day of the 36th Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Sunrise Beach, Mo., the two fastest catamaran and V-bottom speeds were laid down on the event’s three-quarter-mile course this morning. Of course, the nine-time-defending overall Top Gun champion American Ethanol team was one of those boats—the other was last year’s Top Gun V-bottom, Factory Billet, which upped its event record speed to 186 mph after a significant jump to 184 mph at the 2023 happening.
Bald eagle rescued in Missouri wasn't injured: It was too fat to fly
A bald eagle was captured in Missouri, thought to be uninjured, and unable to fly. The bird was healthy, just engorged - or, "too fat to fly," after eating its latest meal. An X-ray showed parts of what appeared to be a raccoon’s paw. Wildlife officials in Missouri said...

Insider: Chiefs Will Part Ways With Fan-Favorite WR in Favor of Kadarius Toney
Arrowhead Pride’s Pete Sweeney doesn’t think Kansas City Chiefs receiver Justyn Ross did enough this summer to beat out Kadarius Toney for a spot on the 53-player roster. In Sweeney’s final roster projection for the 2024 preseason, he has seven receivers making the regular-season roster: Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore, Mecole Hardman, and Toney.

The Cardinals' pitching prospects are raising the club's ceiling long-term
For what feels like an eternity now, the St. Louis Cardinals have been unable to provide fans with a young starting pitcher that they can rest their hopes upon. Jack Flaherty was the last guy to really fill that void at the big league level for any amount of time, but that hope fizzled fast. Dakota Hudson was too smoke and mirrors to ever be believed in, and guys like Matthew Liberatore and Zack Thompson have never done more than flash for small moments.
