Cam’ron has dug up a hilariously doctored photo of Gillie Da Kid and incarcerated music star R. Kelly, which he shared on social media, prompting a swift response from his fellow emcee-turned-podcaster.
On Wednesday (July 24), Cam’ron posted the photo on his Instagram account, which captures R. Kelly hanging his arm across Gillie’s back and around his shoulders, with the singer’s hand clasped with Gillie’s.
Always one to crack jokes, Cam’ron digitally confronted the Philly rapper, demanding he contextualize the nature of the photo. “Yo @gilliedaking f**k going on?!! This where u get the phrase ‘nut a** ni**a’?” the Harlem native mused, adding, “We gotta have a convo.”
Cam continued to humorously inquire about the backstory behind the photo, such as its origin and whether it was taken under duress. “1. Where was y’all at? 2. Did he drug you[?] 3. Did you want to get on that bad? (Pause). I got more questions hit me bro,” he wrote.
While Cam’s followers followed suit with questions and quips, it didn’t take long for Gillie to chime in, as the rapper appeared to wave the white flag in the pair’s apparent game of shenanigans. “Dam homie don’t do that I told u I was playing,” the Philly native wrote in response, aware that Cam had outclassed him in friendly jabs in that particular round.
Wallo, Gillie’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game co-host, also joined in on the fun, giving the Dipset leader his fictional recollection of the Major Figgas member’s “encounter” with R. Kelly. “Cam it was a wild night, he woke up the next morning soaking wet in a closet filled with lollipops & whip cream,” Wallo added in his own comment.
The reformed convict continued, insinuating that Gillie was the victim of sexual assault at the hands of the disgraced hitmaker. “He was immediately transported to the nearest emergency room. He did a lot of therapy afterwards. We finally got him back to himself. For years anytime he would hear a R.Kelly song he would scream NOOOOOOOOOO, don’t do it!”
This isn’t the first time Gillie Da Kid has been asked about how the photo of him and R. Kelly came to be. During comedian Druski’s appearance on Million Dollaz Worth of Game earlier this year, he brought up the infamous photo, which Gillie claimed was doctored. “You know that picture wasn’t real, ni**a,” Gillie shot back at Druski at the time, adding, “F**k outta here.””
