Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have already begun preparing the world for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics with a brief sneak peek. During the 2024 Paris Olympics conclusion on Sunday (Aug. 11), Snoop and Dre hit the stage in Long Beach, Calif., for the handoff event from Paris to their home state.

The pre-recorded performance started with Snoop walking out to his single, “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” with statues of dogs and the 2028 Olympics logo towering over the emcee and the roaring crowd. Palm trees seemingly swayed as a background dancer, well, dropped it like it’s hot while draped in America’s red, white, and blue colors.

Snoop then ran across the sandy area to a stage with a beautiful beach backdrop, joining Dr. Dre for a rendition of their 1999 hit, “The Next Episode.” Naturally, the Doggfather busts out a calm little C-walk to add some flare to the West Coast affair before ending the set with a waving of the Olympic flag.

Along with Snoop and Dre, H.E.R., Billie Eilish, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed during the closing ceremony. Tom Cruise appeared during the celebration, performing a death-defying stunt as a part of the handover tradition, driving home the star power synonymous with Los Angeles.

Since the beginning of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Uncle Snoop has been having the time of his life in France. The legendary emcee had the opportunity to swim alongside Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps , cheered on both of his “nieces” Simone Biles and Coco Gauff , and even carried the torch for the world’s games. Snoop also helped bring forth the inaugural breakdancing event to the Olympics .

On Friday (Aug. 9), he opened the competition at Paris’ Place de la Concorde with a grand entrance, signaling the beginning of the event with a slight thumping of the coup de baton, a wooden baton used to announce an event’s commencement.
