Latto Addresses Lyrics On New Album Fueling 21 Savage Relationship Rumors

Latto has been rumored to be dating 21 Savage for some time now, although both rappers denied a relationship in the past. However, her newest album, Sugar Honey Ice Tea , includes a few songs that further fuel romance rumors.

While recently speaking with Ebro Darden, the Atlanta rapstress made it clear that she has no plans on revealing who her man is, but fans can “listen to the music” to get their answers.

On the album’s track “Good 2 You,” the 25-year-old raps: “I’m a dime and ni**a twelve the way they out here tryna cuff,” and on “Settle Down” she spits: “Lay a ho* down and lay up with a savage.” Both lines could be a play on the “Redrum” rapper ‘s stage name.

When hinting at the nature of their relationship, Latto told Ebro, “The internet don’t know a goddamn thing, let’s start there. I like being private. It ain’t really nobody’s business. Listen to the music and you’ll know what you need to know.”

The “Sunday Service” rhymer also explained to Ebro how rapping about her love life in front of other people sometimes makes her feel like “a simp.”

“When other people in the studio, I get to feeling like a simp and I’m so not a simp,” she admitted when asked if it was hard writing love songs. “It wasn’t hard when I can be in that element fully but when somebody right there, I feel like a sucker.”

However, she agreed that she has to “let that ego go.”

Latto opened up about her mystery man to Cosmopolitan last year and further explained why she likes her privacy.

“If something is special to me, I’m going to keep it close to me because everything else has to be front and center about my life,” she told the pub as their July/August cover. “I think we find the beauty in separation sometimes because it makes us miss each other.”

She added, “My privacy is more important [than seeing him in the crowd]. I can’t have people putting two and two together. This is the longest relationship I’ve ever been in.”

On 21’s end, he addressed the rumor during a Clubhouse conversation last December. “I’ve been hot for a long time. I don’t do all the antics and sh*t. I don’t got a celebrity girlfriend,” he declared.
