2 Chainz does not play when it comes to his money. The 46-year-old rapper has filed a lawsuit against a Los Angeles-based cannabis business that reportedly scammed him out of $1.5 million.

Law 360 discovered the suit via the Los Angeles Superior Court. It says that the Atlanta rapper invested $1.5 million into the cannabis business in 2021 and was linked to them via Snoop Dogg’s tour manager. Their deal reportedly had a clause where the Grammy winner could get his money back so long as he provided 30 days’ notice.

Chainz asked for his money back in May 2022, after the company had delayed its opening, but they did not comply with the request. He even sent the co-founder a text message in late 2022 to continue pursuing his money and actually got a response; only, he was told that their deal was no longer valid.

Despite this unfortunate situation, 2 Chainz has been prospering on the business front lately. He teamed up with Smoothie King to bring their their smoothies and products to State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks.

“I visit Smoothie King at least twice a week, so this partnership has been a long time coming,” he said. “Opening a Smoothie King in State Farm Arena felt like the right move for me. Throughout my health journey, I’ve been mindful of my choices, and when I go to games and events it’s no different – I’m always looking for nutritious options and Smoothie King is in a class of its own when it comes to delicious smoothies with no added sugar. I’m proud to join the brand.”

Musically, he gave fans a special dose of nostalgia last year by linking up with Lil Wayne for Welcome 2 Collegrove . The November 2023 LP featured Usher, 21 Savage, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Benny The Butcher, and more. Listen below.
